The Sunoco Logistics Integrity Department manages an approximate $50MM annual pipeline inspection and repair program for liquid crude and petroleum product pipeline systems within a 14 state footprint in the northeast, mid-west and southern areas of the country.

Primary Responsibilities

The Specialist, Line Inspection is primarily responsible f

Daily tasks include initiating plans, coordinating, and completing pipeline pigging and hydrostatic testing projects in accordance with contract documents, safe work practices, Company policies and procedures, and strict adherence to governmental regulations.

• Project planning will require extensive coordination and resource allocation between multiple internal departments and external contractors.
• Issue downtime requests, contract releases, and prepare estimates for in-field work as well as the annual Capital and Expense budgets.
• The incumbent will also be responsible for the management and training of contract inspection personnel required to meet inspection program goals.
• Maintains maintenance and inspection records in accordance with both company and regulatory guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be familiar with all applicable regulations including DOT, API, ASME, and OSHA codes.
• API and DOT procedures, HES and a working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
• Understanding and adherence to contracts and agreements within scopes of work. Must be OQ qualified.
• A high School diploma. Minimum of 5 years work experience the pipeline industry including pipeline construction, welding, maintenance, pipeline hydraulics, and an understanding of pipeline “pigging” technology. Experience in pipeline integrity projects such as in-line inspection, hydrotesting, and direct assessment methods, a plus.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); organizational skills, analytical and math skills, good computer skills, the ability to interact well with property owners, municipal, state, and federal agencies at all levels.
• Must be a team player and willing to assist outside of own discipline.
• A valid driver’s license.

• Must be able to climb ladders, tanks, and work in inclement weather. This position will require extended off-hour duties at times. Incumbent is expected to acquire a level of proficiency that will enable him/her to perform the responsibilities of this position in the absence of the Line Inspection and Integrity Project Managers.
